Writer of picture books that tell sweet and wholesome stories of bravery and kindness

Even though Joann has lived most of her life in Big Sky Country, she cannot brag that she knows how to ride a horse. A writer from an early age, she didn’t get serious about it until much later in life, despite having received lots of encouragement from supportive adults along the way. Ignoring the nudge(s) to become a journalist, she also didn’t become a high school teacher the way she’d planned. Instead, she became a jewelry designer and goldsmith, a creative process she has found to be remarkably similar to the craft of writing.
